Well, I've now experienced a blizzard. We've had snow since I moved to Kansas, but not a blizzard and what started on Christmas Eve was definitely a blizzard. And not a bad one at that when you compare it to weather further north. It's not that we got any great quantities of snow; it's what the wind did with the snow we got. Ceiba boliviana, over here known as "paineira-rosa", occurs on a vast territory including Brasil, Bolivia and Paraguay. It has a very particular way of spreading its seeds. After pollination, big "bulbs" are formed. They contain the seeds that are surrounded by a cotton bed. Ok, just down the road from Fox Glacier is a lake called Lake Matheson which is famous for reflecting the mountains that surround it. Its about a 10Km hike around the lake, but coming up to sunset its nice way to relax after spending the morning and afternoon hiking on the glacier. It snowed in the UK today - around 8 inches in London - and as usual the whole country ground to a halt. No buses were running in London this morning (although a few resumed this afternoon), parts of the tube were suspended, schools were closed, theatres cancelled performances, airport runways shut down, an estimated fifth of the workforce didn't make it to work. I managed to get into central London only to find that the college was closing and I had to turn round and come back home.

ika and i went to kapas island last week..ika decided to take a break from her superhectic job schedule..the actual plan was to stay there for 2 days 1 night..the package was inclusive of accomodation, 3 meals, snorkelling, and return boat transfer..RM160 per pax..not bad..on the day of arrival, the weather was sunny, the sky was blue and the breeze was sepoi- sepoi bahasa hehe..we went for a stroll and photoshooting at around 3pm and went for a snorkelling trip thereafter.. the moment we soaked ourselves... Well, this guy was not too itsy bitsy I can tell you. But then, we don't usually see really large spiders in our neck of the woods, except those big furry dock spiders that always seem to be where you put your hand when going through locks or coming alongside a dock. This one had decided to take roost on the trailer we were going to take. Sadly to say, he didn't quite make the trip - falling off somewhere while enroute.

Today my master bought batteries for me. In order to power me up, you will need 6 "D" and 7 "AAA" batteries.
It is recommended to use normal alkaline batteries as the extra weight helps to stabilize my walking.

Was hoping for a bit of clouds, it was really hot on Saturday, so was hoping for some favourable weather, unfortunately that was not the case and it was even hotter. Crowds were even much bigger with bus loads of students. But, at least me, my friend Dennis and 'Yoman' got a few autographs... The race was enjoyable (although it was loud) and the overtakings was happening all over the track. Overall, it was an enjoyable weekend, though it was tiring.
